I bought this unit for our trawler. The aerial is roughly 6 meters from the ground surface and the unit runs on the “auto” mode. We use Telstra network and get consistent 2 bars or more. I have tried it in bays that had no signal previously, and I was able to make calls. Right now, I have 3 bars on my phone. The internet has also improved a lot, so we're delighted with this product!
