Something was wrong with my unit and the signal remained the same even after installation and pointing it to the cell tower. They were gracious enough to suggest options and when neither could work, I sent it back and will be receiving another one in a day's time. I hope this one works!
This unit came into my house and turned it around. I am never home so I don't quite get to use my laptop and phone in other rooms save for the bedroom and maybe living room. I took a small break from work and realized that my kitchen balcony and where I loved to rest and do thing online now that I was home, gave me one bar at all times. I had to buy this unit so I could rest without being cut off from the rest of the world. I now have 4/5 bars at all times and I love it.
I bought this unit for our trawler. The aerial is roughly 6 meters from the ground surface and the unit runs on the “auto” mode. We use Telstra network and get consistent 2 bars or more. I have tried it in bays that had no signal previously, and I was able to make calls. Right now, I have 3 bars on my phone. The internet has also improved a lot, so we're delighted with this product!
This thing was such a horror to set up! Maybe it has to be me and my lack of diy skills and positive aversion to things that need to be installed or put together in any way. I almost sent it back because I was not seeing any change, only to realise that the outdoor antennae had to be pointed towards the cell tower after it was pointed out to me. For all that struggle, I get really good network in return, which is great.
